Miles turns .25 year old today

 

In the decision between staying up to finish this blog tonight or working on it in the next couple days, I choose a soft pillow and the company of my family.

Apparently my decision to get a good night sleep was not well received by our readership. I don't want to name names, but someone in NorCal whose name rhymes with den, hen, Jen, Ken, pen, ten, yen, and Zen demands a new post so a new post he will have.

In looking back over the past month, we are amazed at how few pictures we took, which we think has something to do with the fact that we've eased into a nice routine with Miles.

As a family, we spend a great deal of time exploring the neighborhood and hiking through the Santa Monica Mountains. Jill's mother Daisy also spends a few days a week with us to provide an extra hand and smother Miles in love.

Once a week, Jill and Miles attend a Mommy and Me class. Here is a picture with their new friends (back row, second from right).

 

The exception to the routine was a last-minute trip to Berkeley tied around Peter's work with Google and Yahoo. In addition to a nice opportunity to introduce Miles to the wonderful world of aviation, we spent some time with family and friends.

Miles' cousin Daphne was thrilled to welcome Miles to her home, and Miles was just happy to spend some time on his tummy.

Peter's cousin Samara (blog to right) decided to take a break from working on her thesis to pay a visit. Her original plan was to stop by on her way to the library, but after 8 hours, a great homemade dinner, a couple bottles of wine, and some card games, she wisely decided to call it a night.

The next day Peter decided to take a crack at feeding Miles a bottle in anticipation of Jill returning to work in 6 weeks. Again proving that Miles is an angel baby, he took to the bottle on his first try.

In other developments, Miles is increasing his neck strength.



Miles also was accepted off the waitlist into daycare at Sony's Bright Horizons. For a little context around our excitement, it is important to note that the average person stays on the waitlist for approximately 2 years. As luck would have it, an employee decided to move his family to Texas, opening a spot in the infant room for Miles.
